aedge is a compact company. By design.

From the very beginning, the decision was clear: aedge would not grow into a large consultancy.

There was a time, when sheer scale in everything was a competitive advantage. Huge amounts of money were spent on large, multi-year projects, which required legions of experienced people in order to produce gigantic and transformative software systems.

Service providers needed to provide this scale in order to meet demand. Very often, only to see these projects fail.

Today, it is widely accepted, that agility is more important than scale in order to be successful. Systems and products ought to be built incrementally. Teams need to grow organically and selectively.

In our experience, when providing a service only two things matter: results and people. Why? Great people form great teams. Great teams build great systems. Great systems make great products. And great products lead to great results.

Big service providers certainly do have advantages and have their merit. But with a wide range of services comes a wide range of special interests, while scale incurs a non-trivial amount of overhead at multiple levels. And somebody has to foot this bill.

Building software, systems, products, teams and organizations is our profession as well as our passion, but the focus needs to be singular - helping you succeed, not adding a layer to our org chart.

• … provide simple body leasing services - and we won’t. But we might be able to solve your problem on a higher level
